The M/T Giancarlo D, first ship of the series of 19800 dwt st. st. chemical tankers, has obtained the approval of the inclining experiment report. The result is perfectly in line with our preliminary estimation: the weight of the ship and the center of gravity are perfect.
We are very satisfied, being this ship the first M.E.S. design realized in China, where we didn’t have any experience before. We consider this a good starting point for the future Projects.
For these ships M.E.S. carried out a deep scantling optimization and extensive F.E.M structural calculations, to reduce as much as possible the weight of the stainless steel and limit the total costs, in order to have a winning design and competitive ships in the market.
